Context & Risks
During the implementation of a project, the construction phase presents specific risks for natural environments, from the initial clearing phase to the restoration of these environments. For aquatic environments, French regulations require no further deterioration in the chemical and ecological status of water bodies (Environmental Code : article number R. 212-13).
As part of the reinforcement of a retaining wall on a national road, the specifications raise the importance of continuous monitoring of parameters such as total suspended solids (TSS) and dissolved oxygen. HYDREKA carried out the correlation between TSS and turbidity in order to ensure the continuous monitoring of TSS.
Solution & Results
So as to meet the consultation requirements, HYDREKA implemented two solutions, before and after the works. Communicating and energy self-sufficient, these equipments allow to continuously measure TSS and dissolved oxygen and to set up alarms according to defined alert conditions.

Feedback & Perspectives
This 3-month service helped the works manager to pilot in real time the different phases of his project. It allowed the company to make arrangements to slow down the pace of work without having to stop the site, fall behind or pay fines.
The project manager was satisfied with the very low impact of the works on the river as well as the company’s ability to anticipate risks, and protect the natural environment.
